Our heart at City Church International is to be a strong base church, thronging with life and power, poised and positioned on the brink of the 10/40 window in the gateway city of Hong Kong! We want to pour our light out into the darkest places in the world and see multitudes in the 10/40 window come into His Kingdom! Our work into China is part of that vision.Before I came to Hong Kong God spoke to me about the nation of China. He said to me He wanted to 'transform the face' of a nation through revival fire and the gospel! He said He wanted to do it through 'Esther' type figures through divine favor with the government.
In May 2009 we were about to start a 'family' in the city of Shenzhen just across Hong Kong’s border. After I had finished talking to our church about it, a lady came up to me who was born in Hong Kong, but had been living in America for 10 years. She had just built a three self church building in an area seven hours up from Hong Kong, in the country side villages of China. She had received honorary citizenship in China. She had been given a license to preach whatever she wanted in this church... and her name was Esther.
So we followed this Esther into the villages of the country side of China. There we spent the next few months of the year preaching the gospel and demonstrating it with signs and wonders and incredible healings. As a result, hundreds of local Chinese people, who had never heard the gospel before, have been saved through this work. ‘Families’ have been started and over 130 three self churches have opened up for us to work into!
The work is multiplying and increasing and God is on the move in China!!! We are now sending teams into these areas monthly.
