The Book Table

The book table plays an important role in the church. It is open before and after the Sunday meetings so visitors who have listened to the grace message and want to learn more can buy books or CDs that will deepen their revelation of grace. The books offer a good solid grounding in the grace message and enable people to free their minds from a confusing mixture of law and grace. The materials that we sell can also be used as witnessing tools. People buy the books to give to friends, family and acquaintances to share the message of grace with them. Rob's book Living in the Grace of God is a particularly good one to give to people as it presents the message of grace in a clear and straightforward way which is easy to understand. Members of the church can also take advantage of having all the resources right there and give them to visitors to the church to help answer any questions they may have about grace or what they have heard in the meeting.

The book table is set up every Sunday morning, Saturday night worship times and conferences. We have one table with all the books and CDs on set up at the entrance to the church. This way people can see it when they arrive and have a look before the meeting starts, and also on their way out afterwards. We have books by Rob Rufus, Ryan Rufus and other great authors published by New Nature Publications. We also have the CCI live worship CD, the Glory and Grace Conference 2009 mp3 CD and Bonnie Rufus' Glory to Glory worship album. These materials are also available from the New Nature Publications website (www.newnaturepublications.com) if you are not able to buy them directly from the church, as well as the City Church online bookstore.

Thinking of volunteering?

The book table is a relatively new ministry. At the moment the team is small and needs more volunteers. We aim to have at least four volunteers on the roster so that each person is only on once a month. The duties are very simple and involve setting up the table, and being there before and after the services to handle sales. The whole set up is very simple and we can show you how to do it all in just ten minutes.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the team, we would be delighted to have you. All you need is a friendly manner and a heart to be a blessing to City Church and the people who’s lives will be changed by the materials on the book table.
